My hatred for the Democratic Party leadership stems from a soul-crushing sadness that I disguise with my angry words. I see a party whose leaders refuse to lead. They ignore every opportunity to prove that they stand with the people because, deep down, they do not stand with the people. Their allegiance is to the trappings of office, to the procedures, to the niceties and complexities of Robert’s Rules. But they do not use those procedures or rules for our benefit. They use it for their benefit, for their insider trading, for building their nest egg. (Just ask Tom Suozzi about his $25 million dollar nest egg.)
Early in the first Trump administration, the teachers of West Virginia had gone on strike and marched through the streets. That was a perfect opportunity for the Democrats to rush out and march with them, to show everyone that the Democrats stand with the people, with the teachers, with labor. The Democrats did not go to West Virginia.
We now have a major demonstration going on at ICE detention in Newark, New Jersey. Have we heard from Hakeem Jeffries or Chuck Schumer? Has a bus load of Democratic politicians from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut arrived there to give speeches, to rally the people, to show their support? Where is the Democratic Party as a whole? Where are their fiery speeches? Where is Corey Booker, the man from Newark?
The lack of a forceful, rapid response to major events (a hunger strike has started in a detention facility in Texas) is a result of a leaderless, rudderless “leadership” team. They have no overarching plan, no war room, no strategic roadmap. Without a map they do not know where they are, where they are headed, or if they have reached any important landmarks. They have no way to measure the importance of events, so they ignore nearly all of them.

Each morning I am saddened by the latest utterances of the madman-in-chief.
Each morning I am crushed by the silence of the opposing party.

Useless Democrats
